Thanks to a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts, Daria has been delving into the study of porcelain’s material transparency for over a year. She explores the connections between ceramics, color, and light on emotional, sensory, and conceptual levels. These initial explorations of porcelain’s boundaries allow her to reflect on identity, emotion, and craftsmanship. This research has culminated in her first series of luminous sculptures, where functionality, emotion, and ambiance merge. By experimenting with functional art, she makes her creations both accessible and familiar while maintaining a strong aesthetic and sensory dimension, challenging the boundary between utility and artistry.
